2023 ELECTIONS: Voter Guide
During odd years between Gubernatorial and Presidential elections, Carroll County’s eight municipalities hold elections for open mayor and council member seats.
Summary information is available in this document provided by the Carroll County Board of Elections. The dates of 2023 municipal elections are:
- Hampstead – Tuesday, May 9th
- Manchester – Tuesday, May 16th
- Mount Airy – Tuesday, May 2nd
- New Windsor – Tuesday, May 9th
- Sykesville – Tuesday, May 2nd
- Taneytown – Monday, May 1st
- Union Bridge – Tuesday, May 9th
- Westminster – Tuesday, May 9th
It is important to know that only registered voters who reside within the boundaries of an incorporated municipality are permitted to vote in its local election or run for office. To verify eligibility, enter your address into the Maryland State Board of Elections Polling Place Lookup, then click on the My Voting Districts bar, and look for the applicable code for Municipal District. The codes for Carroll County’s municipalities are: Hampstead – HA1, Manchester – MA1, Mount Airy – MT1, New Windsor – NW1, Sykesville – SY1, Taneytown – TA1, Union Bridge – UB1, and Westminster – W01 and W02.
