Because Hunger is Non-partisan
The Election Day Food Drive is a non-partisan effort to collect non-perishable food for Carroll County Food Sunday.
The drive will take place on election day, Tuesday November 6th at all Carroll County polls.
The Drive was started at the 2008 election when the generous citizens of Carroll County donated over 3,000 lbs of food at the polls. The EDFD group is continuing the effort this November and is trying to get the word out early and wide.
I sincerely hope you will consider helping the effort by using any email list serves, newsletters, and social media to let your friends and associates know of this important food drive.
Carroll County Food Sunday is in its 35th year of serving Carroll residents, providing supplemental nutrition to the neediest who live here.
In 2017, 1,580 families were helped for a total of over 48,000 requests. 350,000 lbs of donated and purchased non-perishable food plus milk and Veggie Vouchers were distributed, with…… 2 part time employees. Over 7,500 volunteer hours were donated which helps account for the fact that 93¢ of every Carroll Food Sunday dollar is used to purchase groceries.
Please help us spread the word about the Election Day Food Drive.

Volunteers are also gladly and gratefully welcomed.
All non-perishable food items are always welcomed, but canned vegetables, canned fruit, and cereals are the core menu items that we must purchase to supplement food donations and are always the items needed most.
The 2016 Election Day Food Drive brought in about 4,000 lbs of food to CCFS, that’s 2 tons and is about half the amount of food that Food Sunday distributes weekly. Please help us set a new record in 2018.
Thank you for your help,
