Carroll County Democratic Central Committee September Meeting, September 10, 2020 Minutes Meeting was held virtually and was called to order by Don West, Chair, at 7:06pm. Please get in touch through webpage or Facebook. * Justin Wilson – people are anxious to make calls to swing states, but we still need to focus on making calls into MD as well * Would like to set up a Saturday in late September for a 10-1, 1-4, 4-7 phone bank specifically for Carroll County, must keep faith in election process Chair’s Report * Approval of agenda – motion to approve by Mitch, vote unanimous * Recognition of 9/11 – moment of silence * Billboard – currently up, will be up through the election * LTEs – keep them coming, great job by everyone * MDP Biden yard signs and bumper stickers are in – Mitch will pick up Saturday in Annapolis * Corynne purchased 100 “Nasty Women for Biden/Harris” bumper stickers, available at HQ Secretary’s Report Motion to approve report by Kate; vote unanimous Treasurer’s Report Current balance - $2,476.91. Motion to approve report by Charles; vote unanimous * Bringing in more funds all the time E-Votes * Motion by Kate on August 25 to send out 3,000 GOTV postcards, 2nd by Corynne; vote unanimous * Motion by Don on August 30 to nominate Raquel (CD 1) and Corynne (CD 8) for Presidential Electors; vote unanimous Committee Reports * GOTV Postcard Writing – 313 names past month, 348 month before that to new Carroll County Democrats * GOTV postcards – motion to approve Kate’s language by Don; 2nd by Corynne; vote unanimous * Need to figure out who to target with 3,000 postcards * Phone Banking – no updates, Tom will get the volunteer list from Raquel, work with Justin * Texting – Raquel will send previous estimate for cost of proposed texts * Volunteering – Sally is sending an email out to new volunteers with opportunities to get involved with different campaigns Old Business * HQ * Schedule – all shifts staffed with two people each shift, one person per shift has a key, going really well, may expand hours as we get closer to the election * Virtual Silent Auction – displayed at HQ * Up to almost $1200 * Push on Facebook every day that HQ is open, or at least once a week – Kate will post * Consider ending auction early – thoughts? End of this month?
