Chair's Report-
MD Dem Summit very nice event, very successful, very well
attended by CCDCC. New executive director, Pat Murray well
regarded well connected.

Meet and greet Saturday evening for state Sen. Jamie Raskin
in Westminster

Need to send November minutes to the State Party

Will need a new secretary at some point Zach won't be able
to continue in the role, minutes passed with unanimous
consent

$6,570,76, treasurer's report passed with unanimous consent.

MAKO meeting in Ocean City. New voting system in Maryland,
going back to paper ballots. Some touch screen use still in
place. Money is in the budget for return to paper ballots.
New director needed as Gail Carter retired. Larry Shipley,
newest member of the board. Would need to buy all new
machines, and perform maintenance.

Mollie Byron, spokesman for O'Malley, campaign headquartered
in Baltimore City, focus is on Iowa, looking for someone
from Carroll County to host a house party. Looking for
volunteers, Maryland is critical

Picnic at Lions Club in Union Mills, CC Dems monthly
meetings beginning in September (15th?) at Johansson's, Mona
Becker and Robert Wack hopefully attending.

South Carroll Dems not meeting for the summer.

Local politics-
no one really keeping tabs on the Commissioners; ethics,
education issues teachers are leaving

Report that Carroll delegation spent all of their allotted
funds for the session

Need some literature for FallFest schedule for volunteering
is being looked at, brochure (needs graphics)

What are we going to have intern Kathy to do? Joan suggested
Facebook research. Continue to have a point person on
recruiting interns.

Fall breakfast October 24th Best Western, Anita got the last
Saturday for us.

Raffle off a free ticket to the Fall breakfast, motion by
Frank R. passed unanimously
