Minutes for the January 8th meeting of the Carroll County
Democratic Central Committee

Attendees: Zach Hands, Don West, Corynne Courpas, Anita
Riley, Mitch Edelman, Neil Ridgely, Dorothy Scanlan, Tom
Scanlan. Guests: Gail Riley, Phil Miller

Meeting called to order at 7:04 by the Chair.

Chairman's Report
The state party meeting in December was a tale of two
stories, the state . Meeting for executive committee will be
at the end of the month, and they will report back. -we will
be asked to put a forward three names for the election board

Gail Riley, incumbent president of the election board, spoke
briefly about keeping the selection process non-convoluted.
She petitioned to keep old names on the board.

Secretary's Report-
Minutes from the November meeting were accepted, and a
motion made by CCorynne C., 2ND by Neil R., unanimously
passed.

Treasurer's Report-
The treasurer reported that the committee had $59.47 at the
end of the year, everything is paid off for the year, and
the annual report has been filed with the state. Passed
unanimously.

Club Report-
Anita R. reported that the South Carroll Democratic Club met
the niggt before with low turnout, and that they were only
going over what they weredoing for the year.

Local politics-
Neil- 2 commissioner issues, CCDCC has had nothing to say
about disclosing financial investments from commissioners;
2030 committees=planning committee, CCDCC needs to weigh in:
being the only apparatus of the party in the state. Do we
speak as a group or individuals? Press release on statements
regarding county issues? There was a discussion of further
involvement of the CCDCC in the county regarding the
appointment process and activities of local elected
officials since there are no Democrats.

Discussion of creating internship opportunities- Zach H. to
develop internship write-up, a few people interested.

Catching up on VAN, getting a database of people who used to
be, or may be involved.

The CCDCC must write a 2 year plan for the state committee,
and it was discussed who would write it and when it would be
decided.

Corynne C. and Anita R. mention the idea of getting pins and
buttons for committee members. To be discussed again at a
later date.

Meeting adjourned 8:45 by the Chair.

The next meeting of the CCDCC will be on February 12, 2015
at 7pm at the Westminster Library.
