Carroll County Democratic Central Committee Meeting Minutes

October 17th, 2013



Committee members in attendance Paula Monroe-Davidson, Maria
Warburton, Frank Rammes, Jim Gregory, Corynne Courpas, Don
West, Neil Ridgely, Dorothy Scanlon and Jackie Jones.

Other attendees Alexander Dunnigan, James Dunnigan, Lowell
Jones.

Meeting was held in the Small Meeting Room of the Finksburg
Branch of the CCPL and was called to order Jackie Jones,
Chair, at 7:03 pm and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chair's Report 
Welcome to James and Alex Dunnigan.  Alex is
interested in being a candidate for office.  She also
commented on the upcoming Common Core forum, the recent
NAACP dinner and the upcoming State Party meeting on
November 16th.

Secretary's Report 
September's minutes were sent to CCDCC
members via e-mail.  A motion to approve minutes was made by
Corynne C., 2nd  by Frank R., vote unanimous.

Treasurer's Report 
Treasurer's report was sent out via
e-mail to the members and showed a current balance of
$6,849.37.  Motion to approve report by Neil R., 2nd by Don
W., vote unanimous.

Club Reports


Committee Reports 
Neil R. gave his Local Politics report,
including the upcoming Commissioners' Common Core forum and
the Clean Chesapeake Coalition attempts to undermine Bay
restoration efforts.

The Election Committee report was given by Corynne C.  She
updated us about the recent meeting of the committee,
including candidate recruitment, mentoring of candidates,
and the importance of choice of words in a campaign.

There were no Events, Fundraising, Grassroots/Outreach, or
Communications reports.

Old Business 
Breakfast is coming up on Saturday, October
26th.  Neil R. would like our Breakfast to be dedicated to
Elmer Lippy.  Frank R. suggested designating all future
Breakfasts as “The Elmer Lippy Breakfast”.

The JJ Dinner is set for Thursday, May 15th, 2014.

New Business 
none

Announcements 
The next regular meeting for the CCDCC will be
Thursday, November 21st, 2013, starting at 7 pm, in the
Large Meeting Room of the Westminster Branch of the CCPL.
