Carroll County Democratic Central Committee Meeting Minutes for July 10th, 2014 COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Don West, Corynne Courpas, Zach Hands Other Guests in Attendance: Jackie Jones, Greg Pecararo, Anita Riley, Paula Monroe-Davidson, Frank Rammes, Jim Gregory, Lowell Jones, Jackie Schrenker-Case The meeting was held in the small meeting room at the Finksburg Library of the CCPL, and was called to order by Corynne Courpas, Chair, at 7:10pm. DISCUSSION: A motion to elect a new Chair, Treasurer, and Recording Secretary was made by Corynne C. A motion to elect Don West as interim Chair was also made by Corynne C., 2nd by Zach H., vote unanimous. Don W. made a motion to elect Corynne C. as Treasurer, 2nd by Zach H., vote unanimous. There was discussion headed by Don W. regarding if the Chair can take the position temporarily, which was affirmed by Greg P. The suggestion was made that looking for qualified applicants for the central committee to fill the vacancies that exist would provide a breeding ground for assuming leadership roles should the chair wish to remove himself. It was also discussed how the committee would go about seeking to fill the amount of vacancies it has through forms of social media (including website, email, etc). Corynne C. noted that there are 6 female vacancies and 4 male vacancies at this time. Corynne C. made a motion to elect Zach H. the Recording Secretary, 2nd by Don W., vote unanimous. It was noted that a press release regarding existing vacancies would be circumvented out amongst different Democratic clubs, and organizations in the area. Including social media pages such as Facebook, the CCDCC website, and local bulletins. Members also discussed the CCDCC's role in the upcoming election, and events, such as the annual picnic, training session hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party and swearing in process. Also, the Fall Fest in Westminster on the weekend of September 27-28th was mentioned. Members and guests lightly discussed election strategies for the upcoming cycle. Planning for the annual fall breakfast was briefly touched on as well. The next meeting of the central committee was discussed and set for Thursday, August 28th at 7pm at the Westminster Library.
