Carroll County Democratic Central Committee Meeting Minutes January 16th, 2014 Committee members in attendance Greg Pecoraro, Maria Warburton, Jackie Jones, Paula Monroe-Davidson, Frank Rammes, Jim Gregory, Corynne Courpas, Don West, Neil Ridgely, Dorothy Scanlon and Anita Riley. Other attendees Zach Hands Meeting was held in the Large Meeting Room of the Westminster Branch of the CCPL and was called to order by Jackie Jones, Chair, at 7:03 pm and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair's Report none Secretary's Report December's minutes were sent to CCDCC members via e-mail. A motion to approve minutes was made by Corynne C., 2nd by Dorothy S., vote unanimous. Treasurer's Report Treasurer's report was sent out via e-mail to the members and showed a current balance of $7,235.44. Motion to approve report by Frank R., 2nd by Neil R., vote unanimous. Club Reports none Committee Reports Neil R. gave his Local Politics update, including State of the County address, local economic development, education, Commissioner Rothschild and environmental issues, Board of Elections, master plan and the prayer lawsuit. There were no Events, Fundraising, Grassroots/Outreach, or Communications reports. Old Business Anita R. gave a preview of our annual Jefferson /Jackson Dinner, slated for Thursday, May 15th, 20014. Tickets will again be $75 each. Deposit has been sent to Martin's. Speaker for the evening is yet to be finalized. Anita wants each CCDCC member to sell at least 2 (or more) ads for the brochure. Silent Auction will again be organized by Neil R. and Dorothy S., and CC Dems will be the sponsoring organization. There was a brief discussion about possible entertainment. There was more discussion about our upcoming Campaign Training session. Jim G. had sample handouts that will be available that morning. There was a motion by Don W. to accept the agenda for the meeting as outlined by Jim G., 2nd by Neil R., vote unanimous. New Business Jackie J. asked if we would need to address our current by-laws, specifically the seating of the new Committee, as a result of the change in the primary date. There was a discussion about Neil's suggestion that we submit LTE's to the Carroll County Times , outlining our take on local politics. Anita R. made a motion, 2nd by Neil R., authorizing Greg P. to explore how we can obtain current email addresses for local Democratic voters for a voter outreach campaign, vote unanimous. Announcements The next regular meeting for the CCDCC will be Thursday, February 20th, 2014, starting at 7 pm, in the Small Meeting Room of the Finksburg Branch of the CCPL.
