July 14 (1 of 2): 3rd Annual Farm to Table Brunch (NEW)

Carroll County Food Sunday presents the 3rd Annual Farm to Table Brunch on Saturday July 14, 2018.

The brunch will be held at John Street Quarters, the social hall for the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department.

There will be 2 seatings, 9 AM and 11:00 AM, featuring  culinary treats from award winning Chef Melissa Fordham, including:

Assorted Gourmet Quiche

Fresh Corn Pancake with bacon marmalade

Parmesan Stewed Tomatoes

Gazpacho

Balsamic Zucchini Cous Cous

French Toast Casserole

Southwest Sausage & Egg Tacos

Old Bay Potato Hash

Local Fresh Fruit Parfaits

Egg White Rosemary Frittata

Juice & Coffee

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12, and can be purchased online at CCFS’s website: https://ccfoodsunday.org/.

Proceeds from the Farm To Table Brunch will help support Carroll County Food Sundays nutrition efforts including the Veggie Voucher Program.

July 29: CCDemClub Picnic, 1-4pm (UPDATED)

The Carroll County Democratic Club will hold its annual picnic from 1-4pm at the Lions Club Park in Union Mills, next to the Homestead. It’s at the corner of Littlestown Pike and Old Hanover Road (straight out 97).

Hamburgers and hotdogs, buns included, will be supplied by the club.

Please bring something to share:

  • if your last name starts with A-M, please bring a side dish

  • If your last name starts with N-Z, please bring a dessert

We don’t provide beer, but feel free to bring ‘em along if you wish.

It’s always fun just getting together for a sunny Sunday.

Members are welcome, and if you’re not a member, come anyway and join up!

The picnic is FREE to members, and you can always join up at the picnic!

August 1: Emily Shank Fundraiser, featuring Martin O’Malley! (NEW)

Emily Shank is the only Democratic candidate for State Delegate in District 5.
On Wednesday, August 1st at 5:30 p.m. Corynne Courpas will be hosting a fundraiser with former Governor Martin O’Malley for the benefit of the Shank campaign.  A donation is suggested and appreciated. Governor O’Malley is currently hard at work getting progressives elected all across America and has generously offered to come out in support.

Sept. 10: CCDemClub Meeting (SAVE THE DATE) (UPDATED)

The Carroll County Democratic Club will meet  Monday, September 10 at 7 pm at Johannson’s Restaurant in Westminster.

A number of us meet at 6 for dinner.  Everyone is welcome at the meeting, dinner, or both.

This promised to be a VERY special meeting!

We are planning on holding a School Board Forum, which will be a NON-partisan, public service, event.

Several of the candidates in the general election are expected to attend.

ALSO, we have a scheduled speaker: Stephanie Klapper, who is with the Maryland Health Care for All! Coalition.

They’re working to make prescription drugs more affordable for Marylanders.

She’ll be talking about the Prescription Drug Affordability Resolution
( http://healthcareforall.com/RxResolution ),

as well as the group’s recent legislative successes, and their work in association with the attorney general.

Ms. Klapper is Deputy Director of the Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative.

About the Club

We work to promote Democratic ideals and candidates. We also present speakers on topics of interest to voters at our meetings. We’re based in Westminster.

To pay CCDemClub annual dues, send a check made out to “”CCDemClub” to Mark Wilson, Treasurer, 1699 King Richard Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

$15 for a single, $25 for a couple. You will receive a spiffy 2018-2019 club membership card in the mail! Back to our regularly-scheduled program….
