EVENTS

May 17: Congressional District 1 Forum

The Congressional District 1 Forum will be Thursday, May 17th, starting at 7pm in the large meeting room of the Finksburg Library. All 4 Democratic candidates have agreed to attend:

  • Jesse Colvin

  • Allison Galbraith

  • Michael Pullen

  • Steve Worton

The moderators will be Wayne Carter (editor of the Carroll County Times) and Charles Harrison (of the CCDCC). The event is free and open to the public. We anticipate that the Community Media Center will stream the event.

May 19 (1 of 2): Day of Action

From CCDCC Chair Don West:

On Saturday, May 19th we are planning a Day of Action where we will be calling local Democrats to talk about local issues and candidates in the Primary Election.  If you are interested in participating contact me (thema…@gmail.com) or Zach Hands (zachar…@gmail.com).

With your help, maybe we can create our own Blue Wave here in Carroll County.

May 19 (2 of 2): Patriots Resist Rally (Weekly Gathering for Inclusion)

This is a peaceful gathering to spread the love!

Make a sign to celebrate inclusion! (this is not a protest, no chants, just signs).

Meet across from the Westminster Branch Library, from 1 to 2pm every Saturday. Please keep your signs Welcoming, Positive and FOR something (not against something, this is a message of inclusion and welcome for all)

There are no organizers for this event. It is an organic gathering meant to spread peace, love and inclusion.

May 22: Fundraiser for Emily Shank and Natalie Ziegler: Pasta, Pizza, & Politics

Pasta, Pizza, & Politics: The Perfect Pairing.  Natalie Ziegler & Emily Shank will be at Liberatore’s Ristorante, 6300 Georgetown Blvd in Eldersburg from 5-8pm.  Come meet the candidates hoping to represent you, make new friends, share your ideas, and show your children how democracy works!  A percentage of sales will benefit their campaigns.

July 29: CCDemClub Picnic, 1-4pm: SAVE THE DATE!

The Carroll County Democratic Club will hold its annual picnic from 1-4pm at the Lions Club Park in Union Mills, next to the Homestead. It’s at the corner of Littlestown Pike and Old Hanover Road (straight out 97).

Hamburgers and hotdogs, buns included, will be supplied by the club.

Please bring something to share:

  • if your last name starts with A-M, please bring a side dish

  • If your last name starts with N-Z, please bring a dessert

We don’t provide beer, but feel free to bring ‘em along if you wish. More information to come.

It’s always fun just getting together for a sunny Sunday.

Members are welcome, and if you’re not a member, come anyway and join up! The picnic is FREE to members, and you can always join up at the picnic!


About the Club

We work to promote Democratic ideals and candidates. We also present speakers on topics of interest to voters at our meetings. We’re based in Westminster.

To pay CCDemClub annual dues, send a check made out to “”CCDemClub” to Mark Wilson, Treasurer, 1699 King Richard Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

$15 for a single, $25 for a couple. You will receive a spiffy 2017-2018 club membership card in the mail! Back to our regularly-scheduled program….
