March 24 (1 of 2): Free In-Person Campaign Training

From the Maryland Democratic Party:  Hello Maryland Democrats –

Please join us for a free in-person campaign training on Saturday, March 24 from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Tommy Douglas Conference Center, 10000 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD.

This training will cover field organizing, fundraising, digital communications and messaging.

Open to candidates, campaign staff, Democratic Clubs, Progressive clubs and any other Democrats involved with a MD campaign.

April 2: CCDemClub Meeting, speaker: Tim Hickman

The Carroll County Democratic Club will meet  Monday, April 2 at 7 pm at Johannson’s Restaurant in Westminster. A number of us meet at 6 for dinner.  Everyone is welcome at the meeting, dinner, or both.
Our speaker will be Tim Hickman, author and activist, who wrote “How to get Elected to State and Local Office”.

April 17: Another Evening w/ Dem. Candidates for Governor (UPDATED)

The Monocacy Plowman and Fisherman Club (of the Frederick County Democrats) is pleased to invite you to Another Evening w/Democratic candidates for Governor of Maryland on April 17 when you will have the opportunity to meet Prince Georges County Executive Rushern Baker, Ben Jealous, Alec Ross and Senator Rich Madaleno. The evening should be very interesting and will give us a chance to get up close and personal with candidates to be our next Governor.
Tuesday, April 17 at 6pm, at the home of Stephen and Alexis Slater, 7900 Runnymeade Drive, Frederick
You can reserve your seat by becoming a member or paying the admission rate for this event.
Membership covers the rest of 2018 – includes this and one more event this year – for you and a guest – $120 or $110 for Club Blue members.

May 7:  CCDemClub Meeting – last of the club year!

The Carroll County Democratic Club will meet  Monday, May 7 at 7 pm at Johannson’s Restaurant in Westminster. A number of us meet at 6 for dinner.  Everyone is welcome at the meeting, dinner, or both.
We are working on setting up a candidates’ forum for this, the final meeting of the club year. (No meetings June, July, August.)  Also scheduled is the swearing-in of officers for the 2018-2019 club year.

May 17: Congressional District 1 Forum

The Congressional District 1 Forum will be Thursday, May 17th, starting at 7pm in the large meeting room of the Finksburg Library. All 4 Democratic candidates have agreed to attend:

  • Jesse Colvin

  • Allison Galbraith

  • Michael Pullen

  • Steve Worton

The moderators will be Wayne Carter (editor of the Carroll County Times) and Charles Harrison (of the CCDCC). The event is free and open to the public. We anticipate that the Community Media Center will stream the event.


About the Club

We work to promote Democratic ideals and candidates. We also present speakers on topics of interest to voters at our meetings. We’re based in Westminster.

To pay CCDemClub annual dues, send a check made out to “”CCDemClub” to Mark Wilson, Treasurer, 1699 King Richard Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

$15 for a single, $25 for a couple. You will receive a spiffy 2017-2018 club membership card in the mail! Back to our regularly-scheduled program….
