Note from the President (NEW)

Dear friends,

Mark your calendars for our next Carroll County Democratic Club meeting. It will take
place via Zoom on Monday, March 7 at 7 PM.
Our Communications Director Mark
Wilson will send out an email invitation. Please respond to that email if you will attend
so that Mark can send you the Zoom link. The focus of the meeting will be on getting
ready for the Midterm Elections. So many of us thought that the 2020 Presidential Election was the most important
election of our lifetime; it turns out that getting Trump out of office did not end the
danger to our democracy. Among our most important goals for the Midterms are:
maintain Democratic control of the House of Representatives; hold and expand our
majority in the Senate, and elect a Democratic Governor of Maryland. Just as important,
we need our local government offices to be safeguarded from right wing extremists and
nowhere is that more important than in our local Board of Education. We have our work
cut out for us and we will review what we can be doing during the meeting.

In addition, please save the following dates for upcoming Club meetings:

Monday, April 4th from 6-7:30 PM at Exploration Commons at the Westminster Library

Yes! This will be an in-person meeting – our first in two years!! Come join us to
celebrate, get more great information on the Midterms, and to learn more about
Democratic events and activities in Carroll County.Monday, May 2nd. Time and location to be announced. Our speaker at that meeting will
be Katherine Berry, Election Director, Carroll County Board of Elections who will talk
about the upcoming elections and the security of mail-in voting.
Here is a wonderful graphic from the MD Democratic Party to help you remember the
importance of our 2022 Midterm Elections:

See you at our Zoom meeting on March 7. Until then, take care and stay well.

Kate Sanner
