Please mark your calendars for our November 4 meeting at which, in honor of Veterans Day, we will have a panel of veterans as our speakers. We would love to see a big turn- out for this event – to show our gratitude to our veterans and to learn how we can best support them. The meeting will take place at Johansson’s in Westminster. We start the meeting at 7, but several of us come at 6 to have dinner together. Please join us!
Thank you for all you do to give Democrats an important presence and vibrant voice in Carroll County.

An invitation from Kate
Calling all patriots! Have you heard of Postcards to Voters?
“Postcards to Voters are friendly, handwritten reminders from volunteers to targeted voters giving Democrats a winning edge in close, key races coast to coast.
What started on March 11, 2017 with sharing 5 addresses apiece to 5 volunteers on Facebook so that they could mail postcards to voters in Jon Ossoff’s race grew in one month to 1,200+ volunteers nationwide and over 51,000 postcards mailed.
Now, we consist of over 61,000+ volunteers in every state (including Alaska and Hawaii) who have written close to 4 million postcards to voters in over 162 key, close elections.
To learn how you can write individually from home, go to: https://postcardstovoters.org/volunteer/
Or you can attend a great postcard writing group that meets weekly at The Shops at Kenilworth in Towson every Thursday from 10 AM – 12 Noon. I just started attending on July 4th and plan on going frequently. (I have written PTV from home for the Midterms.). The organizer of the group, Jill, an amazing activist whom I met 2 ½ years ago, asked me to extend an invitation to all Democratic Club members to come write with them. This is a powerhouse group of postcard writers but they are also welcoming and enthusiastic. I hope you can come!
New episode of the Moving Forward podcast
Kate Sanner’s latest podcast:
Honoring the Women of the Six Triple Eight Central Postal Directory Battalion of WWII
One group of unsung heroes of WWII were the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. The 6888th was the first and only all Black Female Women Army Corps (WAC) unit to be deployed overseas during under the Command of Major Charity Adams. Their nickname was the “Six-Triple Eight” and their motto was “No Mail, Low Morale.”
Kate Sanner, host of Moving Forward, interviews Colonel Edna W. Cummings and Master Sergeant Elizabeth Helm Frazier who discuss the efforts being made to secure the recognition these women so rightfully deserve including the Six Triple Eight Monument, the “Six Triple Eight: No Mail, Low Morale Documentary” and the Six Triple Eight Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2019.
