Wes Moore to Headline Democratic Summit
New York Times Bestselling author Wes Moore will be the featured Keynote Speaker at the 12th Annual Western Maryland Democratic Summit and Straw Poll on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the FSK Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Frederick.
Wes Moore is a youth advocate, Army combat veteran, social entrepreneur, and host of Beyond Belief on the Oprah Winfrey Network. His books, The Other Wes Moore and The Work: My Search for a Life that Matters, have both drawn critical acclaim and become New York Times bestsellers.
The event will also feature appearances by Democratic Candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6), Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, and other Maryland Democratic leaders; valuable workshops and exhibits on topics of interest to activists, candidates, and political junkies; and networking opportunities that have established the Summit’s reputation as a signature event in Maryland politics.
Summit attendees will vote in a straw poll on the Democratic candidates competing in Maryland’s April primary election for President and U.S. Senate.
Workshops during the Summit will address college affordability, messaging to rural voters, and inspiring women to seek political office.
