VOCAL: Candidate Research Night #2

May 29, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

VOCAL Elected Officials Accountability Campaign – Candidate Research Nights

“We will build community power to hold decision-makers accountable.”

The 2018 election season is underway with early voting in the primary elections beginning June 14th. As the Carroll County Times and others have started to gather information on the candidates, VOCAL will seek to play an active role in framing the discussion of issues important to Carroll County citizens.

VOCAL’s focus is local because that is where our ability to make change is strongest.  In 2018, VOCAL will focus our research efforts on key county races, including the Board of County Commissioners, the Board of Education and the Republican & Democratic Central Committees.

Some key objectives of our ongoing Elected Officials Accountability Campaign include:

  • To ensure meaningful debate on key issues important to Carroll County residents before during and after elections.
  • To identify candidates’ positions on key issues
  • To make known candidates’ business and financial interests and campaign contributions.

Please help by joining us at our May Candidate Research Nights. If you have a laptop please bring it (a tablet would also work if you don’t have a laptop). We will be compiling and deciding how to present the candidates campaign contributions, financial disclosures. There is always more we could do to learn important information about Carroll’s candidates.

Join us at the May Candidate Research Nights

In lieu of a regular May monthly meeting, VOCAL is holding two research nights in May,  in addition to the Voter Registration Training we organized on May 1st.

Research Night Meeting #2 time:
Tuesday, May29th, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Westminster Branch Library.
