Carroll County Democratic Central Committee Meeting Minutes June 19th, 2014 Committee members in attendance Corynne Courpas, Maria Warburton, Neil Ridgely, Jackie Jones, Paula Monroe-Davidson, Anita Riley, Frank Rammes, Jim Gregory, and Don West. Other attendees Lowell Jones Meeting was held in the Large Meeting Room of the Westminster Branch of the CCPL and was called to order by Jackie Jones, Chair, at 7:10 pm and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair's Report Secretary's Report April's minutes were sent to CCDCC members via e-mail. A motion to approve minutes was made by Jim G., 2nd by Paula M-D., vote unanimous. Note: There was no May meeting because of hosting the JJ Dinner. Treasurer's Report Treasurer's report was sent out via e-mail to the members and showed a current balance of $10,493.91. Motion to approve report by Don W., 2nd by Neil R., vote unanimous. Club Reports none Special Report none Committee Reports Neil R. gave his Local Politics report, including DiMaggio's campaign DVD, local economic development fund, DiMaggio's zoning case, County Government ordered to pay attorney's fees to the tune of $92,000 in the 'email redaction' case, and who is paying for Lynn Mallick's campaign signs? There were no Events, Fundraising, Grassroots/Outreach, or Communications reports. Old Business There was a report and discussion on Hampstead Day. New Business There was a discussion about some of the events during early voting. We had an extensive discussion about Mary Ellis' Progressive Democratic bulletin. It was suggested that she should be listing links to our candidates' websites. Then there was a transition in to a discussion about VAN. Corynne motioned that we obtain (and pay for) a voter list of all the Democrats who changed parties for the Primary Election (there was no second or vote recorded). Corynne also made a motion that Mary's email distribution list should be available to candidates, Neil R. 2nd, vote unanimous. There was a discussion about the new Central Committee being seated after the Primary Election. Also, we discussed how to use the money in our treasury to support candidates – mailings, a headquarters, etc. Corynne updated on the Sign Rally for June 23rd. Announcements There will be an organizational meeting for the 'new' CCDCC on Thursday, July 10th, starting at 7 pm in the Small Meeting Room of the Finksburg Library. Meeting adjourned at 8:32 pm.
