Minutes for the October 16, 2014 meeting of the CCDCC Attendees: Zach Hands, Don West, Corynne Courpas, Mitch Edelman, Frank Rammes, Jackie Jones (guest), Lowell Jones (guest). Meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:07pm. Pledge of allegiance was said and Zach Hands was sworn in officially as a member. State party coordinated campaign Contacted by John LaFerla in regards to Andy Harris opposition research, no motion to utilize 10 passes to fundraiser/Obama rally as members of the central committee TREASURER'S REPORT August budget amendment to minutes that the number was $10126.31. Also, Kohn advertising was an $8500 cost, also a revision of August minutes. The October balance was $7605.82, and the initial expenses at Kohn were paid. SECRETARY'S REPORT Approving minutes from August and September meetings, motion approved for both Minutes need to be sent to Meredith Bowman, and Mark Wilson. CLUB Reports The November meeting was discussed, as well as the CC Dems sign rally to be held the day before the election. The club is in the hole and it was debated as to whether the CCDCC can help out? The December meeting will likely be an informal dinner, and the club will look to be reserving the Buttersburg Inn for the 11th. Neil's Report The Master Plan was the dominant topic of Neil's report. There's a lot of controversy surrounding the meetings and the content of the plan. There was also no mention of rezoning in the plan which was what had a lot of people stirred. The potential conflict of interest regarding Frazier if elected Commissioner was discussed, and potential CCDCC action if movement was to take place on that front. Sheriff is requesting $406,000 to house inmates at Allegheny, and Howard County detention centers. The solid waste study by KCI was to be released this morning, but was not. The endorsement of Commissioner Rothschild by the Oath Keepers was discussed, as well as helping out Jim Rowe, the write-in candidate in that district. Comm. Howard proposed Mass Transit Protection Resolution to keep transportation services only to the county. The undertones of the resolution and how binding it is was discussed, as well as, the timing and effects it would have. Complaints about the Carroll County flag on the mailer was discussed, and the criteria and mailing list for the last mailer was debated around the table. Mitch E. volunteered to begin work with the volunteer list, and Zach H. offered to help search for an intern or other volunteer to assist Mitch with data entry and the list. The meeting adjourned at 9:02pm after a motion was made by Frank R. The next meeting of the CCDCC will be at 7pm in the Small Meeting Room of the Finksburg Library.
