Bio

Vanessa Ali understands the challenging times we are living in and she brings the combination of problem solving, decision making, community collaborations and leadership.  Vanessa Ali is best known as a dedicated civil servant in Montgomery County. 

Vanessa has worked tirelessly to provide meaningful employment to hundreds of unemployed and underemployed residents of Maryland. Among her accomplishments, Vanessa was honored with the 2009 “Community Leadership” award by the Maryland Legislative Black Caucas.  She was also selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as one of the “Women In Business, Champion of the Year Award” in 2005.  She was a member of the class of 2008-2009 Leadership Montgomery, a board member of the Montgomery County African American Democratic Club, board member of the East County Citizens Advisory Committee, board member of the Women Business Owners of Montgomery County, member of the Montgomery County Complete Count Committee 2010 Census, and President of the Montgomery County National Organization of Women.  Her personal accomplishments are many, but it is her dedication to changing the political climate in Annapolis that drives her to seek this office.  Vanessa believes that decisions determine direction.
